About Three Feathers
Welcome to Three Feathers. My name is Richard Carlson. I've been flintknapping (chipping) arrowheads, knife blades, spear points and blades for war clubs, for over 40 years, and continue to refine the techniques that are displayed on these pages.
I live and work in Cache Valley, a beautiful rural farming community in Northern Utah. I invite any enthusiasts to join me for hands on instruction. Historic Cache Valley is named for the old fur trappers practice of Cacheing (hiding) their furs preparing for the famous Mountain Man Rendezvous's of the 1800's. While here you can try your mountain man skills at knife and hawk (hatchet) throwing. Or try the aztec spear thrower called the atlatl. Then sit under my fruit trees or in my tree house and chip your own knife blade. mount it in an antler or beautiful wood handle. If you would rather not chip your own knife or arrowhead necklace, I have a large collection of beautiful products that range in price from $10 to $400.
